| CDex Ripper System Requirements:Windows 95/98/ME/NT/XP Adaptec's ASPI manager (should be included in Windows 95, 98 & ME systems). CD-ROM which is capable of extracting digital audio (IDE-ATAPI or SCSI drive). 16 MB minimum RAM. Lots of free disc space to record your MP3s. CDex Features:CDex is an application that records audio tracks from CDs and saves them to a disk as regular WAV files or as encoded sound files. This program features an MP3 decoder (MPEG 1/2/3-based) and a new LAME encoder, and has built-in support to generate OGG Vorbis files. CDex is available in English, German, Italian, and Spanish. This latest release includes better support of USB drives when using Native NT SCSI library option and various bug fixes.
Functionally, one CD ripper is pretty much like another: They copy the contents of a CD. Still, each one has it's quirks. CDex however, lets you encode the ripped tracks as MP3's. Simply download CDex ripper and go. | Updated:
April 15, 2008 Our Other Music Editors, Rippers & Players NOTE: Windows 2000 and Windows XP Issues:Some people have reported problems running earlier versions of CDex with the Windows 2000 operation system or Windows XP, but it should work (many people have already confirmed that it works fine on Windows XP). However, you have to make sure that you have installed the proper ASPI drivers that are supported under Win2K or Windows XP. You might try to the to install the following nt_wnaspi32.zip file, some people have successfully used it in conjunction with CDex. More information on ASPI drivers for Windows XP can be found on the following pages http://www.nu2.nu/aspi/ Last Updated -
